I\nsuppose this could be seen as a cautionary tale about the dangers of drinking\ntoo much alcohol, but for me it's about the start of my life as it is today.\nLet me introduce myself. I'm Max, and I'm a doctor - one of those overworked,\novertired House Officers you read about from time to time. 'I\ntell you what George, how would you like another birthday present?' Confused\nfaces turned to look at him, but he pressed on. 'I've got the money.'

\n\n

He turned to us. 'You two have been\ntotally irresponsible and your immaturity could cost George here a lot of\nmoney. Now it's his birthday and he deserves to have a\ngood night. I'm going to make sure he does. George is into corporal punishment.\nEver had corporal punishment?' We both shook our heads. 'It would have done\nboth of you a lot of good. That's by the by.
