In the end, the judge was kind enough to approve the switch over to a\n J39 instead of the original J40. It took some time, but Salwa couldn’t \nbe more relieved. At least now she wouldn’t have to face the fear of \nlosing her virginity, even if knew that it didn’t really matter that \nmuch in the grand scheme of things.

Sitting down on her bed, she \nlooked down at the letter that had arrived in the mail. Dimly, she \nwondered what her parents would think of her if they knew. In the more \nconservative parts of the world they might have even thrown her out of \nthe house for losing her purity. Things were a bit different now, but it\n was just part of the culture that they had brought along with them as \nimmigrants from the Middle East.

\n We are pleased to inform you that the court has approved your \npetition for a revised punishment. Your sentence will be carried out in \naccordance with the regulations of code J39 as per your request. We \nremind you that this entails the insertion of an object anally in \naddition to any other preliminary procedures as deemed necessary by your\n local Punishment Center.\n

\n In addition, the court recognizes your religious beliefs and will \nmake all reasonable efforts to respect your wishes. Salwa read the text over again. She had to force herself \nto focus on the words. The address was outlined at the bottom, and she \nchecked the date on her phone. A little less than two weeks from now, \nand right in the middle of her midterms as well. She let out a heavy \nsigh. She would have to call a couple of her professors to see if they \ncould make an exception, but at least the worst of it was settled. Now, \nthe only thing she had left to do was to show up whenever it was time \nfor her to go.

“If only I had been a little more careful driving back home,” she mumbled regretfully.

Wrapping\n her arms around herself, she drew her legs up to her chest. The \nconversation with Molly had been a blessing sent from heaven. The woman \nhad been so kind and patient in explaining to her every last detail of \nthe procedure and what she was expected to do. She should really bring \nher a gift after this was all over to show her thanks. A cake perhaps? \nOr maybe a nicely decorated card? What did lawyers even do in their \nspare time when they weren’t going to court?

She thought about it \nfor a couple more minutes before she heard a pair of footsteps outside \nher room. Salwa tilted her head. Looks like Emily – her roommate – was \nback from the bar, and with someone else as well. A guy most likely from\n the deepness of his voice, and letting out another sigh she turned back\n around. From the way they were whispering at each other it was obvious \nwhy he was here, and as the distant sound of their voices trailed away \nto the other side of the apartment, it seemed like she would have to put\n up with the noise for a little while longer.

Slowly,\n the movement fell silent as she tried not to eavesdrop. It wasn’t \npolite to listen, especially not when it came to such an intimate \nmatter. Her efforts were made somewhat pointless a moment later, \nhowever, as the sound of bedsprings slowly started up, and biting down \non her lips Salwa felt her face grow hot. Did sex really feel that good?\n Was that why Emily kept bringing random guys home? She remembered \ntalking to the other girl just a couple of weeks earlier only for her to\n shrug. It was probably just a result of the different cultures they \nhad. If she tried to do something like that then her parents would be \nmore than disappointed, though it wasn’t as if she hadn’t been curious \nabout it before.

The soft sounds of the creaking \ncontinued, and Salwa reached over to wrap her arms around her pillow. \nShe wasn’t exactly blind to what was going on here. She was a pre-med \nstudent after all, and it wasn’t as if she hadn’t tried to touch herself\n before. The only difference was that she hadn’t gone much further than \nthat, and aside from a brief caress with her fingers every now during \nthe stress of her exams, that was the worst she had ever done. \nExperimentation with her fingers once every couple of months and nothing\n more. There was no way she would ever give herself away to someone just\n because they asked. The fact that her hymen was still in one piece was \njust an extra bonus that she had been lucky to hold onto.

Opening\n up her phone, she navigated over to the Judicial Punishment website to \nconfirm her appointment. She would have to catch up on the material for \nher classes later on, but hopefully she wouldn’t have to stay there for \nany longer than she had to. Alternatively, she could just ask to borrow \nEmily’s notes. As much as the other girl liked to throw herself around, \nher ability to study was still quite excellent even if the color of her \nhair just so happened to be blonde.

Turning around in\n the darkness, she closed her eyes as she tried her best to drift off. \nThe silence of the apartment greeted her, and pressing her legs together\n she tried not to think about what was happening in the other room. No, \nshe wasn’t. Not one bit at all. And if the thought of her upcoming \npunishment made her body feel ever so slightly warm, then there wasn’t a\n single person in the entire world who could ever get her to admit such \nan embarrassing thought.

The moans of her roommate continued long into the night. Beside her, the calendar slowly counted down.
