Chapter 1.

Coralline fetched a box of latex gloves, which the girls put\non. Then, ignoring the sleeping Scouts\nscattered around, they roused the exhausted Hermione, unfastened her cuffs, and\nhelped her stand up. Then they returned to her\nbedroom to start the clean-up process. \nThey Scouts were awake now, and looking rather sheepish.

\n\n

Coralline couldn’t suppress a smile. “Well, your very naughty Scouts. I think when everything’s sorted out, you’d\nall better apologise to her, don’t you?”

“Yes…yes, we will…” said Malcolm, slightly relieved they\nweren’t going to be punished, or reported to his mother.

\n\n

“Right. Well we’re\ngoing to have to wash your uniforms. Go\nand get them off, and put them by the machine. \nThere’s more things in here can go in, too. And who’s is this?” She held up the sticky neckerchief.

“What would your Scout leader say if he saw the state\nof your uniform, Timothy?”

They gave them a preliminary wash, and then\nput the machine on the longest wash setting available. They wiped off the furniture, washed the\nfloor, and took down all the balloons - and the condoms.

Hermione was in the shower for the best part of an hour.

“Don’t speak to me! \nWe’re finished. Get out of my\nhouse now. Now! Do you hear?”

\n\n

“Calm down, darling,” said Chantelle, flatly, “ and stop\nplaying the innocent.”

\n\n

“Playing the innocent? You ambushed me, you bitch! You and your fucking pathetic sidekicks. You’re fucking perverts, the lot of you. And did you really film that? I could go to the police over this!”

\n\n

Chantelle looked at her calmly for a minute.

\n\n

“You could, couldn’t you? \nBut you won’t. Not because of\nanything we might do, but because the whole story would come out. I mean about the way you treat your\nboyfriends. Chapter 3.

Mrs Barraclough returned about five. From the start she assumed a rather distant\nair towards her daughter. Even the fact\nHermione had had the blue dress cleaned and hung neatly back in the wardrobe\nfailed to impress her.

“Mum, I’m really sorry about all that. It wasn’t my idea. I…”

\n\n

“Hermione, I really don’t want to discuss the matter any\nfurther. You’re an adult now. You have chosen your bed, and you must lie on\nit.” This speech was delivered, not to\nHermione herself, but seemingly to an area of blank wall about four yards to\nher left. The rather unfortunate choice\nof proverb was not conscious, though\npossibly subconscious. “I think it is\napproaching the time when you will need to find a place of your own to live.”

“I agree, mum.”

\n\n

“I will help you, of course. \nIn the meantime, whatever goes on in your own room is your own\nbusiness. I will neither interfere nor\nenquire. You may do what you will. But please remember your stepson is living in\nthe same house. I don’t want\nhim…corrupted…by any of your…activities. \nDo you understand?”

\n\n

“Of course. I\nwouldn’t think of corrupting little innocent Malcolm for one minute,” replied\nHermione, sarcastically.

But the irony was lost on Mrs Barraclough, who took herself\nand her injured virtue off to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Chapter 4.

\n\n

It didn’t take Hermione long to find out what Malcolm had\nmeant. It was the following\nTuesday. Hermione was in bed, just about\nto turn out the light, when there was a soft tap at her door.

\n\n

“It’s me, sis. Can I\ncome in?”

\n\n

“It’s late. What do\nyou want?”

\n\n

\n\n

Hermione sighed. \n“Okay. But quickly. I’m tired and I want to go to sleep.”

Malcolm slipped into the room. He came over and sat on the side of the bed,\nlooking at his step sister with a slightly smug grin.

\n\n

“Sis? You know the\nother day?”

\n\n

Hermione stared at him, but said nothing.

\n\n

“Well…. It’s sort of\nlike this. The boys really had a good\ntime.”

\n\n

She frowned.

\n\n

“No, I mean it. They\nthought you were really cool. Only…”

\n\n

“Only what?”

\n\n

“You know…the others…they keep talking about it, an’ then they\nget all, you know, like… An’ then…well, like\nthey sort of asked me…if I’d like…ask you…”

\n\n

Chapter 5.

\n\n

Hermione slept fitfully. \nThe chance Jack would actually say something was small, but the thought\nmade her uneasy. In her waking moments\nshe tried to devise a strategy to restore her peace of mind. Strangely, the prospect of her being forced\nto accede to their sexual demands didn’t trouble her at all.
